Spring 2021

It is a pleasure to invite You to a 1st International bioS/TEM Conference. 

Because of the fact that nowadays the Electron Microscopy develops intensively including novel techniques and modern equipment, it is worth meeting in a group of scientists from all over the world who are interested in such techniques, have experience in them or want to learn about the possibility of using electron microscopy in analyzing human, animal or plant tissues, cells and organelles. Additionally, organizing the 1st International bioS/TEM Conference will be the opportunity to establish the cooperation between scientists dealing with various issues of EM.

bioS/TEM  aims to:  

  • focus on all electron microscopy methods used in Biological Sciences, both SEM and TEM as well as all modifications of these methods, including 3D Electron Microscopy; 

  • bring together scientists and researchers to exchange and share their experiences on all aspects of Electron Microscopy, so some different panels e.g.  Botanical, Animal and Human sciences will be organized;

  • to present and discuss the most recent trends in Electron Microscopy;

  • focus on a friendly atmosphere, non-official discussions leading to building cooperation and high quality of presented science.



General information:


bioS/TEM Conference will be held in Poland between the 23-24 of April 2020. It will be organized in the old and Worldwide unique coal mine named as Guido Mine in Zabrze  (about 20 km from Katowice, the capital of Silesia, and about 35 km from Pyrzowice Airport). Therefore, the Conference will take place about 300 meters underground. About 90 participants are planned, so pre-selection of abstracts will be conducted. Considering the cases of disease in Poland and the recommendations of the Minister of Science and Higher Education regarding the infection with SARS-coronavirus CoV-2,

the Organizing Committee decided to move the deadline Biostem conference on spring 2021. The new date will depend on the further situation with SARS-coronavirus CoV-2. All submitted abstracts and other arrangements related to the conference remain without changes.
